UAL had recently opened an Architecture Department with some of the best Architects in Portugal: Manuel Vicente, Manuel Graça Dias, João Luis Carrilho da Graça, Inês Lobo, Manuel e Francisco Aires Mateus among many others...Looked promising.
There was a different perspective of classes, where all the rooms were open for every student and teacher. And the fact that it was so small in the beggining, with so few students, this dynamics was unbelievable. With constant debate about projects, architecture, culture between classmates, other years students, with teachers! Everybody knew you by your name, it was a very confortable and friendly atmosphere. 
During university, teachers allowed us to dream. To make the utopia of Architecture, removing from us the pressure of reality burocracies and dificulties to the pure concept of the design. It was an amazing experience.
